The brief - Re-ignite an old flame, Nescafe Gold

This branding/packaging brief required the designer to take an old or dying brand and bring them back to life with a new visual identity.

I chose to re-ignite Nescafe Gold, a coffee brand that I had always viewed as a bit outdated. I wanted to take something I viewed as a standard quality instant coffee that I would assume sat on every office’s kitchen shelf, to a luxury, organic, and sustainable coffee brand that could compete with current coffee trends. Taking the 80s brand and bringing it into the 21st century.

My design process involved researching new coffee product brands, coffee shop innovations and popular packaging trends. I decided to create a premium jar that people would want to keep on the kitchen shelf, and then refills (shown above) with more sustainable packaging materials.
